Anyone still out there? I know it's been a while, but that's because I've been so BUSY working on a ton o' projects! First up, I'm knee-deep in PORK PORK IN SPACE. We shot about 90% of the movie a few months ago, but there's a ton of effects and sound work that needs to be done, as well as some additional filming. I'm really excited about it, and think that it may be the best film I've ever directed! If you head over to the CLIPS & TRAILERS page, you can see the ERASERHEAD-inspired/parodied trailer.

Also, I have directed my first ever music video! It's for my good friends, the Milwaukee band ifihadahifi. These guys are awesome, and their new album comes out in September. My video is for one of the songs off that album, "Success! Success! Success!" It was a lot of fun to make, and very very messy. You can see the music video on the OTHER WORKS page.

Oh, and there's even some completely finished short films up! Seems most of the time I have a bunch of unfinished projects in the works, but I swear that from time to time I do complete stuff. If you head over to the SHORT FILMS page you can watch TWO BROTHERS PLAYING NINTENDO and INSIGHTS, which are both collaborative projects with my friend Danny E. Benvolio, and Blanc Screen Cinema's entry into the 2008 Milwaukee 48 Hour Film Contest, DAS FOOT. We ended up winning "Audience Choice" (always my favorite award to win) and "Best Actress - Chelsey Patti." So thanks to everyone that came out to the screening and voted for the movie!

And now the obligatory RECOVERED update: we have signed a distribution deal. In August, THE RECOVERED will be available as a Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand option though Gravitas Ventures and AT&T cable. Details are still up in the air, so be sure to check back for more info.

Whew. Been a while. How's everybody doing? First up, THE RECOVERED recently played at the Full Moon Horror Fest & Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas. Early word says the fest was kind of a disaster. Unfortunately, we could not attend to witness the train wreck first hand. Oh well. At least the movie screened. THE RECOVERED is also being shopped around the American Film Market AS I TYPE THIS! The AFM is the largest convention of film distributors in the world. Gulp. Wish us luck.

Since my last update, we've completed two more seasons of THE GRABOWSKIS! My how time flies. You can find a link to 'em all on our SHORT FILMS page.

Also on the SHORTS page are two new films, EULOGY FOR BRIAN and WHERE'S LYNDSAY? EULOGY FOR BRIAN is actually footage that was shot for CLOWNS AND SUICIDE by Jason Santo and Tina Krause years ago, that I recently edited into it's own little film. EULOGY FOR BRIAN is based on an incident that happened to Ron Lipski. I recorded Ron's voicework for the short over a year ago, and just recently finished the film, decided to make it about the anxiety of waiting. You can see 'em both on the SHORT FILMS page.

Hi, gang! So it's been a while since I've updated the site, but that's because we've kinda been busy finishing up THE RECOVERED. BUT, I have added a few tasty new short film-ish type things to the site here. First up is Ron Lipski's movie TWO WRITERS and DALE JACKSOSN REPORTING..., both of which can be found on the SHORTS page. On the CLIPS AND TRAILERS page I've added a short little trailer for the eventual RECOVERED behind the scenes documentary.

Most importantly, back on the SHORTS page, you can view the first half of the first season of Mike Stoklasa's soon-to-be famous internet sitcom THE GRABOWSKIS. It truly pushes the boundaries of what can be considered entertainment and art, but most importantly - what can be considered brilliance and/or insanity. Check out THE GRABOWSKIS, sucka!

The time has come: ORANGES: REVENGE OF THE EGGPLANT is NOW available on DVD, courtesy of the good people at Tempe Video. The DVD features deleted scenes, an audio commentary by creators Mike Stoklasa and Rich Evans as well as myself, a behind-the-scenes documentary, and trailers for other Tempe releases. You can pick the flick up through Tempe Video or through Amazon.com, or you can rent it via Netflix. Huzah!

In other news...Have you ever dreamt of hearing me talk about my movies for approximately an hour, but been hesitant to due so in person for fear of having to look at my stupid face? Good news! I'll be a guest on the internet streaming radio series www.darkersideradio.com THIS Thursday, March 15 at 9:00 pm central time. All my brilliant insights without having to see my horribly unattractive features! The series is horror/paranormal-themed so I'm assuming we'll mainly be discussing THE RECOVERED. Be THERE or be somewhere else!

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the FULL trailer for our upcoming horror film THE RECOVERED is now online! You can check it out on our CLIPS AND TRAILERS page. Also, ORANGES: REVENGE OF THE EGGPLANT, directed by Mike Stoklasa, is now available to pre-order! You can get it directly through Tempe Video or through Amazon.com. The DVD will be released on March 13.

Happy Holidays, everyone! First off, don't forget that Rich Evans' and Mike Stoklasa's Oranges: Revenge of the Eggplant is being released on DVD in the US and Canada through Tempe Video in March of next year. The DVD will include deleted scenes, a making-of documentary, and a commentary track featuring Mike, Rich, and myself. I've just added the film's trailer to our CLIPS AND TRAILERS page.

Also just added to the site in honor of the holiday season is our old school short film A VERY BLANC SCREEN CHRISTMAS. It's shoddy. It's in bad taste. It's what Blanc Screen Cinema was all about back in the day. Enjoy. You can check it out by clicking on the SHORT FILMS link and scrolling to the bottom of the page (I just couldn't bring myself to put it near the top).

That's all for now, sex-bombs. I'm currently editing the hell out of our new feature THE RECOVERED and am making some progress. More info later. Have a good holiday and a Happy New Year, everybody! Say hi to your mom for me.

So my YouTube account was flagged and deleted due to "inappropriate content," which is kinda absurd. I have my theories that it was either the conspired work of STAR WARS geeks (who kept sending me threatening emails due to my George Lucas montage) or the recent Google buy-out. Whoever it was that got my account deleted, I'm glad I pissed you off. Unfortunately, this also means that all the features are no longer available to watch online. I've started a new YouTube account, but doubt I'll be attempting to put all the features back up again, so for the time being, you can just find out about 'em via the IMDB.

In other news, there's a few new bits of media available on the site. Over on the "CLIPS AND TRAILERS" page, you can check out a very early teaser trailer for our horror flick THE RECOVERED, edited by Mike Stoklasa, as well as a funny little behind the scenes clip. Enjoy.

Oh yeah, and one of these days we may actually finish BINGO SAVES THE PLANET.

For the first time since the disasterous INDULGENCE shoot almost 4 years ago, I have finally directed a new feature film! Co-directed is more accurate actually. Mike Stoklasa and I just finished principal photography on a horror film called THE RECOVERED, starring the fantastic Tina Krause. Shooting took place November 6-12. It was a tight schedule, but I gotta say...it felt really good to finally make another movie. I'll post more info the closer we get to finishing the movie, but in the meantime you can read my production journals over at my MySpace blog. It's somewhat of a lengthy read, but it's full of bizarre stories that happened during our shoot.

So our short film PORK PORK may or may not be screening at the first annual It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival, which takes place October 20-22. I recieved a phone call saying it was an official selection, but it is not listed on their website anywhere. It is quite possible that the festival organizer may have pulled it from the line-up when I accused him of exploiting the selected filmmakers. But hey, if you don't have a film playing in the fest, I'm sure the $40 admission price is well worth it to meet celebrity guests like Lloyd Kafman and Eddie Deezen. That's what an independent film festival is all about anyway, right? The celebrity guests?

Thanks to everyone that showed up to The Microcinema Film Fest last month. The United States of Noooo!!! got a lot of laughs. Mini-review from Microcinema Scene's John Oak Dalton: "THE UNITED STATES OF NOOO! was a very loose-limbed, tongue-in-cheek documentary from Jay Bauman and Mike Stoklasa, riffing on that ill-fated pop culture moment in the new "Star Wars" trilogy when Darth Vader is born. Stoklasa narrates the proceedings in a likeably easygoing, self-referential way. At times there seems to be a bit of mock in this doc, but an older Russian woman who slowly edges away from Stoklasa when he imitates the birth of Vader is too priceless not to be real. I think personally that this short got the biggest laughs of the Fest." Thanks, John!

In other news, Stoklasa and I slapped together a funny/stupid little short recently starring the legendary Rich Evans. It's called Mr. Plinkett's Bee Bustin' Service and you can check it out on the OTHER WORKS page. Hopefully it's a sign of better films to come.

Our short film The United States of Noooo!!! will be playing next week The Microcinema Film Fest in Chicago, IL on Saturday, August 12 at 9:25 pm. I'll be there along with Mike Stoklasa, so if you're in the area, stop on by and say hello. For more info, visit www.microcinemafest.com.

Thanks to everyone that made the Rock River Independent Film Festival a huge success this last weekend! The fest was a lot of fun, and the screenings of Ron Lipski's CREATIN' CRETINS and my film PORK PORK went over extremely well. Better than expected actually. Both films scored very highly on the audience ballots; PORK PORK even came in as the second highest voted for film of the fest! You can now see BOTH films on the media page!

Our next stop: The Microcinema Fest in Chicago this August!

6.17.06
Hello everyone! Just a reminder that the Rock River Independent Film Festival is just around the corner! If you're in the area, Ron Lipski's short film CREATIN' CRETINS, as well as my latest short film PORK PORK will both be playing during the "Regional Shorts" block on Saturday, June 24 starting at 2:45pm. My super-short film ROTTEN HONEYMOON will also be playing every night of the fest during the "Best of the Shorts" block. Check the RRIFF website for all the info.

In other film fest news, THE UNITED STATES OF NOOOO!!! is an official selection of Illinois' Microcinema Fest. THE UNITED STATES OF NOOOO!!! is of course mine and Mike Stoklasa's comical documentary about the deterioration of the STAR WARS saga.
